Description | The existing concrete float construction floating dock and all associated appurtenances and equipment mounted to the dock shall be removed and properly disposed of offsite by the Contractor. The existing damaged aluminum gangway was previously removed and is currently stored at a location on the Port. The Contractor shall remove the damaged gangway from the port property and properly dispose of it offsite. The existing temporary aluminum gangway currently installed at the floating dock shall be removed and placed at a location as designated by the Owner and will remain the property of the Owner. The Contractor shall furnish and install a new concrete float construction floating dock including all associate appurtenances, equipment and aluminum gangway as shown on the drawings and described in the project specifications. The existing damaged UHMW protective sleeves and pile caps on the four (4) existing steel pipe piles which serve as anchor piles for the floating dock shall be removed for disposal and replaced with new UHMW protective sleeves and pile caps. The eight (8) existing steel pipe piles which serve as fender piles will remain and be reused. The damaged D-shape rubber fenders mounted on the two northernmost fender piles shall be removed for disposal and replaced with new replacement fenders along with all associated connection hardware and accessories. New ship to shore utilities consisting of electrical wiring, potable water piping and sanitary sewer piping shall be furnished and installed from the face of the existing slip bulkhead wall through the new floating dock in order to provide a fully functioning system. Splices for electrical cables will be made in the underground handhole located immediately north of the bulkhead wall. Areas of damaged concrete along the west and north walls of Commendencia slip will be repaired. |
