Description | Bids must be accompanied by a Bid Bond, or other security authorized by law, in an amount of not less than five percent (5%) of the total base bid. The successful Bidder will be required to furnish a Performance Bond and a Payment Bond, each in the amount of 100% of the Contract Price. The Owner reserves the right to delay the award of the Contract for a period not to exceed sixty (60) days from the date of opening of the bids, during which time the bids shall remain open and not subject to withdrawal. The Project consists of construction of relocated Bartow County Water System public water distribution facilities The Project consists of construction of relocated Bartow County Water System public water distribution facilities to accommodate Georgia DOT's Project No. P.I. 0015534 & 0015535 of Roadway and Bridge Improvements at SR3/US41 @ SR 293/CSX in Emerson, Georgia. The Work to be bid consists of: Furnishing all labor, tools, equipment and incidentals necessary for construction of approximately 2,240 LF of Owner-furnished16-inch DIP water main; (2) Furnishing all, labor, tools, equipment, and incidentals and Contractor-furnished materials necessary for construction 345 LF of 24-inch steel casing (open cut and bored), 7 gate valves (16-inch), 3 fire hydrants, 3 air release assemblies in manholes, and approximately 8,600 lbs. D.I. fittings, removal & disposal of approximately 1,815 LF of buried 6-inch AC water pipe and grout-filling, and/or removal & disposal of approximately 1,805 LF of buried 16-inch ductile iron pipe; and (3) All with related construction staking, traffic control, clearing, erosion control, compacted backfill, flushing, hydrostatic testing, disinfection, grassing & landscaping, pavement restoration, and clean-up. All work must conform to requirements of the locally approved Erosion Control Plan and the Georgia EPD General Permit GAR100002. All questions about the meaning or intent of the Bidding Documents are to be submitted to Engineer in writing. Replies considered necessary by the Engineer will be issued by Addenda mailed or faxed to all parties recorded on Engineer's Bidder's registry as having received the Bidding Documents. The Project has been designed by Sweitzer Engineering, Inc. (hereinafter called Engineer) which is to act as Owner's representative, assume all duties and responsibilities and will have the rights and authority assigned to Engineer in the Contract Documents in connection with completion of the Work in accordance with the Contract Documents.
