Description | As of March 23, 2023, an engineer has been selected. A firm timeline for stage of design and construction has not been determined. *The closed solicitation has been included below for reference: Select an A/E consulting firm to prepare Preliminary Design Documents, including a Design Report for the repair to the DMV's concrete driveway. This project will replace three existing air handling units, three A/C condensing units, two boilers, and all necessary fittings, refrigeration lines, and related piping. It will also convert the current pneumatic control system to direct digital controls (DDC), allowing for remote monitoring and management. The existing ductwork serving the dispatch area will be replaced as will two first floor restroom exhaust fans. The HVAC system at the Eau Claire State Patrol Post is beyond its useful life and has airflow issues in the dispatch room making it difficult to maintain proper temperatures. Additionally, the Post's DDC is limited to two air handling units which serve less than half of the Post. Upgrading the DDC to cover the entire facility will allow HVAC/R technicians to have remote access to all conditioning equipment and will further DOT's goal of having DDC installed in all DOT-owned facilities. DOT originally received a quote of $268,000 for construction however DFD requested an increase to $360,000 due to the current and future bidding environment. The A/E design team selected for this project shall have experience in planning, design, and construction of public use facilities. A/E Selection Jul 2022 Design Report Jan 2023 SBC Approval Feb 2023 Bid Opening Apr 2023 Start Construction Jun 2023 Substantial Completion Dec 2023 Final Completion Feb 2024 The method of Contractor Selection has not been Determined at this time. |
