Description | The professional services that may be provided under this contract are primarily of a civil engineering nature, however, all services are of an architect and/or engineering nature. Bureau specific assessment protocols will be used for the work along with other recognized federal or state agency regulatory guidelines. Projects may include rehabilitation and new construction of visitor centers, administrative facilities, maintenance facilities, comfort stations, housing, and recreation sites and facilities; marine facilities including earthen dams, bridges, pumps and water control structures, channel outlet structures and river enhancements; roads, trails, campground sites, trailheads, boat ramps, gravel and concrete walks, culverts, fences, and parking areas; fences and gates; utility infrastructure including electrical systems, plumbing systems, HVAC systems and water and sewage systems; and telecommunications, radio communication towers, and security systems. Surveying may include ground surveys, boundary surveys, aerial photography and aerial topographic surveys, global positioning systems (GPS) surveys, preliminary and final design layouts, construction layouts, as-built surveys, hydrographic and hydrologic surveys, and technical assistance; drainage and storm water management systems; environmental engineering and compliance permitting, including hazardous materials condition assessments and testing, underground storage tanks and system appurtenances, and air and water quality monitoring systems; and geotechnical engineering. Work may require specialists in the following disciplines: architectural, civil, geotechnical, land surveying, transportation planning and route analysis, structural, mechanical, electrical, biological and environmental sciences, landscape architecture, educational exhibit interpretation, and cartographic capabilities plus related support. Architectural, engineering, and geotechnical specialists shall be experienced in high seismic area design and construction techniques. |
