Description

Renovation of an educational facility in Lincoln, Rhode Island. Completed plans call for the renovation of a educational facility. Town Of Lincoln Request for Proposals RFP# 2022-05 Physical Education Center Design Build The Town of Lincoln reserves the right to accept or reject, without prejudice, any or all proposals or to waive any irregularities therein, or to accept the proposal deemed to be in the best interest of the town of Lincoln. The Town of Lincoln is an Equal Opportunity Employer. We encourage all small and minority-owned businesses to apply. Twenty (20) proposals must be submitted in sealed envelopes as well as one copy downloaded to a thumb drive clearly marked "DESIGN-BUILDER - RFP #2022-05". The envelope should be addressed to the Town of Lincoln, Finance Director, 100 Old River Road, Lincoln, RI 02865. Proposals will be distributed to the PEC Committee and opened publicly at the next scheduled PEC Committee meeting following the proposal due date. The PEC Committee meets at 7:00 p.m. in the Town Council chambers located at 100 Old River Road, Lincoln, RI. Questions about this RFP may be directed to the Town of Lincoln Finance Director John Ward at jward@lincolnri.org and Downes Construction, to the attention of Joe Desanti at jdesanti@downesco.com and Tony DeMelo at tdemelo@downesco.com. Questions shall be submitted no later than Friday, April 15, 2022, at 2 pm. All questions and corresponding answers will be distributed to all consultant firms who received this RFP. Friday, April 15, 2022 by 2PM: Last day of questions MBE Goal is Ten Percent (10%) and the WBE Goal is Ten Percent (10%) per State regulations and applicable law. A bid bond in the amount of 5% of the proposed project budget ($7,200,000) must be deposited as a guarantee that the contract will be signed and delivered by the bidder, and the amount of such bid bond shall be retained by the Town as liquidated damages in case of default. A performance and payment bond with a satisfactory surety company will posted by the bidder in the sum equal to 100% of the awarded contract. Bidders shall use $7,200,000 to calculate the performance and payment bod cost. Construction on this project could commence as early as August 2022, after the Lincoln Public School District obtains State approval for this work. It is critical that the project achieve substantial completion no later than June 30, 2023. It is anticipated that the award of the contract will be made on or before May 10, 2022. Work shall be scheduled to commence no later than May 12,2022.
