Description | The project consists generally of rehabilitation of 21-inch and 24-inch gravity sewer main through cured-in-place pipe lining (CIPPL), as well as associated manhole installation and rehabilitation, together with incidental and ancillary work. Generally, the scope of work includes approximately 2,950 L.F. of 21-inch and 6600 L.F. of 24-inch sanitary sewer pipe to be rehabilitated through CIPPL, respectively and approximately 24 manhole rehabilitations. Major requirements associated with this project are mobilization, bypass pumping, manhole rehabilitation, CIPPL rehabilitation, and site restoration together with incidental and ancillary work. Contractor's Bid shall be accompanied by a cashier's check or certified check upon a national or state bank in an amount not less than five (5) percent of the total maximum Bid Price, payable without recourse to the Little Rock Water Reclamation Authority, or a Bid Bond in the same amount from a reliable surety company, as a guarantee that the Bidder will enter into a Contract and execute Performance and Payment Bonds within fifteen (15) days after Notice of Award of Contract. The Notice of Award of Contract shall be given by the Owner within sixty (60) days following the opening of Bids. All bids are subject to the conditions of Section 002113 Information for Bidders of the Contract Documents. The successful Bidder must furnish a Performance Bond and Payment Bond upon the forms provided each in the amount of One Hundred (100) Percent of the Contract Price from an approved surety company holding a permit from the State of Arkansas to act as surety, or other surety or sureties acceptable to the Owner. Attention is also called to the requirements of the DBE/MBE/WBE requirements of the contract documents. The Contractor is required to take the affirmative steps to assure that disadvantaged, minority, and woman business enterprises (DBE/MBE/WBE) are used when possible as sources of materials, supplies, equipment, construction activities, and professional services. The apparent low bidder will, as a condition of contract award, be required to document to the Owner and to the Arkansas Natural Resources Commission that affirmative steps were taken in the preparation of bids to obtain DBE/MBE/WBE participation. |
