Regional Traffic Signal Timing Program

The Capital District Transportation Committee (CDTC) is the designated Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO) carrying out federal requirements for cooperative transportation planning and programming in Albany, Rensselaer, Saratoga, and Schenectady Counties (except the Town of Moreau and the Village of South Glens Falls) in New York State. CDTC is requesting expressions of interest from qualified firms or individuals to undertake the Regional Traffic Signal Timing Program. The purpose of this study is to prepare and implement optimized timing plans at signalized intersections owned by local jurisdictions. The consultant shall work with CDTC and local signal owners to develop a traffic data collection plan, collect turning movement counts and other field data, develop optimized timing plans, implement the optimized timing plans (once approved by the local signal owners), and observe the operation of the retimed signals. The study is being funded by CDTC through its FY 2022-2023 Unified Planning Work Program. The study has a fixed budget of $100,000 for consultant services. CDTC will administer the consultant contract on behalf of participating local signal owners.
