Hilo Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP) Rehabilitation and Replacement Project - Phase 1

This project generally consists of construction, testing, startup and commissioning of a new replacement septage receiving facility, a new replacement headworks facility, a new replacement odor control system for the headworks and existing primary sedimentation tanks, a new headworks electrical building, a new sludge blending system with odor control, two new replacement anaerobic digesters and associated digester control building, new digester gas conditioning system and waste gas flare, modifications to the existing primary influent channel and primary gallery, along with supporting piping, mechanical, ventilation, electrical and control systems, civil and site improvements, demolition of the existing headworks facility and portions of the existing pre-aeration tanks, and other related in accordance with the Plans and Specifications. The project requires all work to be sequenced, scheduled, and completed in such a manner as to minimize disruption to existing plant operations in accordance with the requirements provided in the Specifications and Plans.
