Description

Site work, paving and new construction of a mixed-use development in Concord, North Carolina. Conceptual plans call for the construction of a bridge / tunnel; for site work for a bridge / tunnel; for paving for a bridge / tunnel; road / highway; road / highway; sidewalk / parking lot; and sidewalk / parking lot. This project completes the McEachern Greenway to the Hospital. P&R has contracted with TELICS to assist with the acquisition of nine (9) of the fifteen (15) critical parcels needed to make the greenway connection. The City is working on an additional four (4) parcels including the Concord High School parcel, which includes a parcel needed for the connection to the Branchview side of Three Mile Branch. TELICS will analyze fee simple vs. easement/donation for everything between the creek and the road. The design for this greenway will be completed internally by Engineering for cost savings. Phase I: The construction of a pedestrian bridge to access the Branchview side of Three Mile Branch. Additionally, the design and construction of approximately .80 miles of greenway at $2.0 million per mile for the greenway alignment from where the current greenway ends behind the Shell Station to Miramar. Culvert replacement estimates Brookwood for FY24 & Miramar in FY28. Phase II: This will include the design and construction of the greenway from Miramar to David Phillips Activity Center (DPAC), approximately 1.2 miles at $2.0 million per mile. It will also include the design and construction of a trail head parking lot. This project is included in the city's 2023-2027 Capital Improvement Plan (CIP). As of July 16, 2022, further details regarding design and construction have not been identified. *Project information has been obtained through a public capital improvement plan (CIP). A CIP is a financial schedule for short- and long-range projects which is updated regularly. Information listed in the CIP often evolves based on funding availability and the project details, including timeline and value, are subject to change.
