HVAC Control System Upgrade Contract

Bedford County Technical Center proposes to upgrade its current HVAC Andover Continuum Controls. The current control system was installed in 2009 and is running on the existing software platform which is no longer fully supported since June 30, 2020. Schneider Electric, the manufacture of Andover controls, has developed a software package called EcoStruxure which is used to replace the existing Andover Continuum software. The EcoStuxure software is compatible with all of our existing field controllers, sensors, thermostats, wiring, etc. Field devices that need replaced – the existing BCTX controller/router. A large percentage of our existing control system can be reused. The transition to ExcoStruxure will eliminate the expense and necessity to re-design, re-install, rewire, and re-engineer the existing control system. The upgrade to the EcoStruxure software will provide many additional features compared to the Andover Continuum. For example, the ExcoStruxure will provide enhanced cyber security including encrypted communications, logon policies, logoff timers and is pre-qualified for DAIRMF.
