Land Clearing at Cliff Pitts WMA

Acreages of Areas to be cleared: 41.6 acre Dove Field, 3.0 acres of Wildlife Openings, total of 44.6 acres Areas to be cleared were a mixture of loblolly pine sawtimber, loblolly pine pulpwood, and hardwood pulpwood that were clearcut in the winter of 2018/19 (Dove Field) and the winter of 2019/20 (Wildlife Openings). A small amount of residual pre-merchantable hardwood remains on the dove field area, and all four areas also have loading deck sites from the harvesting operations with heavy accumulations of logging slash. The Wildlife Opening sites are the loading decks from the thinning areas.
