Description | PA System Replacement - Chippewa Correctional Facility - 4269 W. M-80 - Kinchole. MI 49784 This project has two distinct scopes of work. One is for an upgrade to the Paging & Communications Systems at Chippewa Correctional Facility. The second scope of work is for an upgrade to the Cable TV (CATV) distribution system. Base Bid - Work associated with the Paging system shall be included in the Base Bid pricing. o Paging System Upgrade scope includes but is not limited to: o Install a new audio paging system throughout the site to support distribution of announcements, tones and emergency messages. o The paging system shall be distributed on the secure ethernet network from the Administration Building to all other buildings. There shall be local microphones at the housing units and other buildings as noted on the drawings. o Install new audio distribution equipment, audio amplifiers, cabling, speakers and microphones as required to provide a completed audio system for the site. See floorplans for locations of existing speakers and new speakers. Remove all existing speakers and cabling and remove from the site. Work shall include configuration of the existing Ethernet network to support the audio paging system. o Work shall include integration of existing emergency sirens as shown on the drawings and integration of the sirens to the paging system. o Work shall include removal of existing paging equipment at each building where it is not required. Remove existing cabling in buildings where it is not being re-used. Remove existing underground paging system cabling on the East and West side of the facility. Remove from manholes and underground conduits. o Add Alternate #1. Work associated with the CATV system shall be included in the Alt #1 pricing. o Cable TV (CAT) infrastructure System Upgrade scope includes but is not limited to: o The site has an existing headend CATV system in place at the Admin building on the East Side. This is currently distributed to all other East side buildings via Hardline coax cable underground. After installation of the new CATV Cables the existing cables and distribution hardware shall be removed and recycled. o Work shall include installation of a new CATV distribution via the existing Singlemode fiber cable that extends from the Admin building to the noted housing units and other buildings as noted. o Install new CATV cable from the communications room of each building to the end user faceplates. See drawings for locations. Provide termination plates and connectors. Install and test signal level at each faceplate. o Install raceways for distribution of the coax cables within each housing unit. See details and drawings. Upgrade lights in housing units where noted to facilitate the installation of raceways on the ceilings of the housing units. o Install CATV to fiber transmitter and splitters. Install Fiber to Coax amplifiers at each building o Install RF-11 Coax backbone and RG-6 user cables to each location. Provide and install splitters and taps to connect all users. o Test and balance CATV system to provide the specified signal level at each faceplate. 5% Bid Security: Required ACCEPTING QUESTIONS UNTIL: June 19, 2023 at 2:00 PM ET. Send the LEIN Request form, filled out and signed, by email to Daniel T. Smith at email address: SmithD76@michigan.gov. The email "Subject" must include (Facility Name, Project Name, Date & Time of Pre-Bid Walk Through Meeting). NOTE: An individual is only permitted to represent one bidder at a mandatory walk-through. |
