Description

Sealed bids are invited for the construction of the Virginia War Memorial Carillon Multiple Projects, Richmond, VA and the projects are generally described as follows per the plans and specifications: 194-A9194-005 / Bells Structural Steel Repair The project is generally described as repairs and painting to a multi-level steel structure supporting carillon bells and repairs to metal railings, walkways and stairs associated with the bells support structure within the bell tower of the Carillon. The Contractor shall assist the Owners separate Contractor directing dismantling of bells from the structure and assist with installation of new bells, pre-assembled framing by Owners separate Contractor, and alteration of parts as directed by Owners separate Contractors provided documents. The Contractor shall coordinate work with the Owners separate Contractor. 194-A9194-011 / Roof Repairs and Replacement The project is generally described as roofing replacement and associated repairs at the 90-year old historic brick and limestone masonry building, 120 feet in height. Work includes removal of previous roofing materials at various roofing levels, patching, repairs and preparation of concrete deck substrates for new roofing materials. Work includes an approximately 7,900 square foot second floor plaza level deck preparation of the existing concrete deck, patching and new mortar at depth to build slope to drains, in preparation of new liquid-applied roofing waterproofing and attached pavers. Work includes removal of layers of existing roofing at multiple levels within the belfry and concrete deck patching and repair in preparation for new roofing, and replacement of dome roofing. Contractor shall coordinate the work described in the plans and specifications with other Carillon projects. 194-A9194-012 / Stone and Building Repairs & Renovation Sealed bids are invited for the construction of Virginia War Memorial Phase 3 Repairs - Carillon Stone & Building Repairs & Renovations at 1300 Blanton Avenue, Richmond, VA. The project is generally described as building repairs and rehabilitation at the 90-year old historic brick and limestone masonry building, 120 feet in height. Work includes exterior and interior stone and masonry repairs, repair of limited areas of concrete structure, cleaning of limited areas of brick masonry, cleaning of interior stone walls and floors, and cleaning of ornamental plaster, refurbishment of historic lighting fixtures, and other repairs and refurbishment as shown on the drawings. The work also includes replacement of HVAC systems, replacement of toilet room fixtures and finishes, and associated work as shown on the drawings. CFP-2019-0516 / Grade Level Plaza Repairs Sealed bids are invited for the construction of Virginia War Memorial Phase 3 Repairs - Grade Level Plaza Repairs at 1300 Blanton Avenue, Richmond, VA. The project is generally described as removal of existing deteriorated brick plaza paving, repair and replacement of damaged and subsiding concrete base and stone sub-base, and setting of new brick pavers in new setting bed materials, in patterns as shown in the documents to replicate the existing historic layout, using Owner furnished brick pavers. A Bid Bond is required. Procedures for submitting a bid, claiming an error, withdrawal of bids and other pertinent information are contained in the Instructions to Bidders, which is part of the Invitation for Bids. Withdrawal due to error in bid shall be permitted in accord with Section 9 of the Instructions to Bidders and 2.2-4330, Code of Virginia. The Owner reserves the right to reject any or all bids. Contractor registration is required in accordance with Section 54.1-1103 of the Code of Virginia. The contract shall be awarded on a lump sum basis as follows: the Total Base Bid Amount including any properly submitted and received bid modifications plussuch successive Additive Bid Items as the Owner in its discretion decides to award in the manner set forth in Paragraph 12 of the Instructions to Bidders. All executive branch agencies are directed to advance Executive Order 35, dated July 3, 2019. PARTICIPATION OF SMALL BUSINESSES AND MICRO BUSINESSES: Under Executive Order 35 (2019), Cabinet Secretaries and all executive branch agencies are directed to continue and advance the following on a race and gender neutral basis: exceed a target goal of 42% on discretionary spending with small businesses certified by DSBSD (the Virginia Department of Small Business and Supplier Diversity). Owners Small Business Participation Requirement: 52%
