| Description | To restore on old-growth wetland (“fen”) by reducing surface water outflow. Several existing old drainage ditches will be “plugged” to slow outflow from the fen wetland. Primary focus is to fill the largest ditch with earth, to specific grading specs, and install erosion control and seed. Wetland plug planting in the plan set will not be included and will be the responsibility of Pitkin County OST the following spring. Three smaller straw bale and wattle structures/“plugs” also need to be installed in secondary drainage ditches. |
