Description

Approximately 200,000 – 300,000 cubic yards of material is to be removed from Bigfoot Slough. Placement of dredged material will be on Bigfoot Slough Island. This dredging shall be performed by hydraulic pipeline dredge. Method of placement of dredged material will be by control of effluent. There is an environmental window for placement of dredged material on Bigfoot Slough Island from September 1 to March 31 for the protection of nesting waterbirds. This contract action also includes, maintenance dredging of Stumpy Point Harbor channel, Dare County, North Carolina. Approximately 300,000 cubic yards of material is to be removed from the Federal Channel. Placement of dredged material will be on an upland placement area adjacent to the channel. The dredging shall be performed by hydraulic pipeline dredge. Method of placement of dredged material will be by control of effluent. There is an environmental window for the dredging of Stumpy Point from November 1 to February 28.
