Description

Original Set Aside: 8(a) Set-Aside (FAR 19.8). PROJECT DESCRIPTION: Construction projects to be performed under this MACC will require the ability to manage multiple task orders concurrently across the PWD Pennsylvania AOR. This MACC will encompass a wide range of DB and DBB projects that include, but are not limited to, new construction, demolition, repair, alteration, and renovation of buildings, systems and infrastructure and may include civil, structural, mechanical, electrical, fire protection, and communication systems. Types of facilities include administrative, industrial, maintenance, warehouses, hangars, communications, personnel support, recreation, lodging, dormitory, medical, roads, etc. The selected contractor(s) will be responsible for all labor, supervision, engineering, design, materials, equipment, tools, parts, supplies, and transportation to perform all of the services described in the drawings and specifications provided for each individual project. Work may be required in other areas in the area of responsibility of NAVFAC Mid-Atlantic if deemed necessary and approved by the NAVFAC Mid-Atlantic Chief of the Contracting Office. This project will replace major obsolete systems in Building 608B to include the following: Replace exterior building cladding/windows/doors with insulated metal panels/double pane insulated windows and doors. Replace overhead doors with new insulated type. Replace existing building heating system to include the installation of two new large circulating fans. LED lighting to be provided in the converted oil tank room, and on the building exterior. The existing transite ceiling will be demolished and replaced with new gypsum board. Fire Alarm system will be modified to support the facility addition. The coal storage room will be modified into a dedicated electrical room and additional dedicated storage areas. This includes bringing the floor up to ground level and adding new doors in the block portion of the building. Project will also connect the building to the sanitary sewer and demolish the existing sanitary holding tank. Project will provide for a new safety rail around the access area to the boiler room and repair/rehabilitate the concrete steps and provide no-slip treatment. Project will also expand the footprint of the facility with an addition of approximately a 60ftx40ft. This expansion will be constructed on the southeast corner of the existing building.
