Description | The Upper Fifth Levee Enlargement project will consist of a levee straddle or slight flood side shift on the west bank of the Mississippi River Levee (MRL) from B/L Station 0+00 to B/L Station 181+00 in Concordia Parish, Louisiana. The existing levee has an average grade deficiency ranging in 4.0 feet and will be brought to an average elevation of 77.0 ft NAVD88. At the crown, the levee will slope down at 1V:3H until reaching the existing 1V:4H slope. At the tie-in point, the existing 1V:4H slope will continue until reaching natural ground at the toe. There are variations in the slopes due to the enlargement being a straddle or flood side shift to avoid drainage features. Silt fencing, clearing and grubbing, excavation, embankment placement, and final grading. |
