B & O Trail - Near West & Far West Segments

Construction of a 12-ft wide multiuse HMA trail from the current termination of the B&O trail just west of the intersection of 10th Street and Allison Way in Speedway, proceeding southeast generally along the abandoned B&O rail corridor to the north side of Michigan Street in Indianapolis. Modifications to the 10th Street roadway and bridge over Little Eagle Creek typical sections are required via the elimination of the center turn lane within the project area. The trail will be constructed across the north side of the existing structure with new bridge rails constructed on both sides of the trail. Pedestrian activated hybrid beacons are to be installed at three trail crossing locations along the project.
