Description | The work involves repairs to City Hall Parking Garage trench drains and related work. All questions must be submitted in writing via fax at 845-451-4101, email: Joe Chenier, Assistant Civil Engineer: electronically or by mail to 62 Civic Center Plaza, Poughkeepsie, NY 12601 by 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 26, 2022. Specifications and Contract are subject to provisions of Chapter 605, Laws of the State of New York of 1959, Section 103-A of the General Municipal Law. The City of Poughkeepsie hereby notifies all Bidders that it will affirmatively ensure that in regard to any contract entered into pursuant to this advertisement, minority and women business enterprises will be afforded full opportunity to submit bids in response to this invitation and will not be discriminated against on the grounds of race, gender, color, or national original in consideration for an award. Each bidder must deposit with his/her bid, security in the amount of not less than five percent (5%) of the base bid in the form of a certified check made payable to the City of Poughkeepsie or a bid bond subject to the conditions of this proposal. Performance and Labor bonds are required upon award. The City of Poughkeepsie requires that any contractor or subcontractor have, prior to entering into a construction contract with the City of Poughkeepsie with a value in excess of $100,000.00, apprenticeship agreements appropriate for the type and scope of work to be performed, which have been registered with the NYS Commissioner of Labor in accordance with Article 23 of the Labor Law. Each bidder must provide satisfactory evidence of registration with the New York State Commissioner of Labor by the deadline to submit its bid package for the construction contract on which it is bidding. Bidders on the Contracts are required to execute a non-collusion bidding certificate pursuant to Section 103-d of the General Municipal Law of the State of New York. The City of Poughkeepsie reserves the right to waive any informality or to reject any or all proposals and may re-advertise for new proposals, if the best interest of the City will be served thereby. This provision, effective July 18, 2008, is an addition to the existing prevailing wage rate law, Labor Law 220. It requires that on all public work projects of at least $250,000.00, all laborers, workers and mechanics working on the site be certified as having successfully completed the OSHA 10-hour construction safety and health course. It further requires that the advertised bids and contracts for every public work contract of at least $250,000.00 contain a provision of this requirement. |
