Description

https://www.hotsr.com/news/2022/sep/30/watch-ardot-director-gives-update-on-road-projects/ - Tudor said the planning study ArDOT commissioned in 2018 for safety and traffic flow improvements at the expressway's Albert Pike, Airport, Higdon Ferry and Central interchanges is under administrative review. Using their population-based shares from the $54.7 million bond issue Garland County voters authorized in a June 2016 special election, the county and city of Hot Springs each contributed $50,000 to the study. "This study took a little while to figure out what the recommended improvements should be," Tudor said. "We're also looking at widening Carpenter Dam. Once I OK it, we'll put it before the (Highway Commission) and the commission will adopt it as a guide for future projects." The draft 2023-26 Statewide Transportation Improvement Program included the interchange improvements, estimating a $100 million cost for the Albert Pike-Airport project and $100 million for the Higdon Ferry-Central project. The funding breakdown included $40 million from the 0.50% state sales tax voters authorized in perpetuity during the November 2020 election. _____________________________________________________________ Higdon Ferry Road and Central Avenue Intersection Improvements The complete request for letters of interest is available electronically.
