Description | This is a SPECIAL NOTICE. No proposals are being requested or accepted with this notice. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Wilmington District is soliciting comments from the construction community addressing the potential use of Project Labor Agreements (PLA) for large scale construction projects (exceeding $25 million) within the Wilmington District and surrounding areas. This market survey is being posted for the Coastal Storm Risk Management Bogue Banks Beaches in Carteret County, North Carolina Description of Work: Estimated Quantity: 3,148,580 CY Environmental Window: December 1 – March 31 The work consists of furnishing plant, labor, materials, and equipment to perform dredging, transporting, placing and shaping beach quality sand and performing all pre and post construction beach surveys. Approximately 3 borrow areas are available for the project and located offshore of the Bogue Banks Beaches. The Bogue Banks Beaches Coastal Storm Risk Management Project consists of placing 3,148,530 CY of Dune and Berm beach fill along 114,910 Linear Feet of Bogue Banks Beaches with four dune sections (31,138 feet). The main fill also includes berm sections and three dune Section located within the West end of Emerald Isle Beach and one dune section is located within Atlantic Beach. The work will require a U.S. Coast Guard Ocean Certified Dredge. All beach work will not begin until 1 December and must be completed by 31 March of the following year. The project also consists of extending approximately 14 existing walkover structures in Emerald Isle Beach and approximately 14 existing walkover structures in Atlantic Beach and the stabilization of approximately 61 acres of new dune. The project area includes the towns of Atlantic Beach, Pine Knoll Shores, Salter Path, Indian Beach and Emerald Isle. |
