Description | As of March 22, 2023, all bids for this project have been rejected and the project is expected to be rebid, however, a rebid date has not been established as of yet. The City of Reading is requesting proposals for BUTTONWOOD GATEWAY IMPROVEMENTS PROJECT, PHASE 1 - SANITARY/STORM SEWER REHABILITATIONS. Each proposal shall be accompanied by bid surety in the amount of ten percent (10%) of the proposal. A certified check or bid bond will be accepted. The City of Reading reserves the right to accept or reject any and all bids, and to accept or reject any part of a bid, as may be in the public interest. CONTRACT DESCRIPTION A. The sanitary sewer portion of the project consists of the Cured In Place Pipe (CIPP) trenchless rehabilitation of approximately 1,120 feet of sanitary sewer pipes, open cut removal and replacement of 643 lf of existing 12" clay sewer pipe with new 12-Inch SDR-35 PVC pipe, the replacement of 3 existing sanitary sewer manholes, the open cut replacement of 37 PVC sewer laterals, trenchless reinstatement of 9 PVC laterals. The storm sewer portion of the project consists of the removal and replacement of 6 storm inlets, installation of 2 new inlets and 280 feet of 18" storm sewer. Surface restoration of the work site is also required QUESTIONS REGARDING SPECIFICATIONS OR BID PROCESS To ensure fair consideration for all bidders, the City prohibits communication to or with any department or division manager or employee during the bid process with the exception of those questions relative to interpretation of specifications of the bid process. Such questions shall be submitted to Purchasing via Penn Bid website no later than February 13, 2023. Responses to questions shall be issued to all bidders in the form of a written addendum no later than February 22, 2023 |
