Description | Notice is hereby given by the Board of Public Works of the City of Kaukauna that the Engineering Department will receive sealed bids for “Project 6-23 LaFollette Park Playground Renovation”, until 4:00 p.m. on the 26( th) day of April 2023 in the City Clerk’s office, Municipal Services Building, in the City of Kaukauna. The Engineering Department will publicly open and read aloud all bids in the Council Chambers at 4:00 p.m. on the same date. The bids shall be labeled “Project 6-23 LaFollette Park Playground Renovation.” The Major Design Considerations of Project 6-23 are listed below: Provide final design, furnish all equipment, and install new playground equipment and playground surface at LaFollette Park to include: ? Design for both ages 2-5 and 5-12 play areas and must be coordinated with the City’s Community Enrichment and Recreation Director ? Design area is approximately 75’ x 85’ (flexible) ? All design submittals shall not exceed the budgets outlined. ? Designs must provide a well-balanced combination of usability, engaging play and interaction opportunities for all children. It should include a mix of climbing, agility, exploratory and sliding activities that provide opportunities for parallel play. ? Playground designs incorporating principals of universal design are highly desired. ? Vendors shall base their playground designs on meeting all safety standards. ? All play system elements must meet and/or exceed all federal, CPSC, ASTM & IPEMA guidelines. ? All playground designs must comply with the American s with Disabilities Act (ADA) and the latest edition of ADA Standards for Accessible Design Materials ? The play structure shall be constructed of steel or aluminum posts, with PVC coated steps, including all transfer points and decks. Wood shall not be permitted. ? Surfacing must be poured-in-place material. Bidder's Proof of Responsibility must be on file in the City Clerk's office by 4:30 p.m. on Friday April 21 st, 2023. No bid can be received or considered unless accompanied by a certified check equal to five percent (5%) of the bid, or a bid bond in equal amount payable to the City as a guarantee that, if the bid is accepted, the bidder will execute and file the proper contract and bond within ten (10) days from the date of the lowest responsible bidder's bid is accepted. In case the bidder fails to file such contract and bond within the time set by the City, the check or bid bond shall be forfeited to the City as liquidated damages. D.
