| Description | District Four (including Broward, Palm Beach,Martin, St. Lucie and Indian River counties), hereinafter called the Department or Fdot, requires the services of a qualified vendor to repair and maintain Portable Traffic Monitoring Sites (PTMSs) districtwide on an "as needed" basis. The Vendor, also referred to as the Contractor, must be able to install, maintain and operate PTMSs in accordance with the standards and specifications of this contract to collect the desired traffic data as defined in the Traffic Monitoring Guide and other relevant references published at federal and state levels. PTMSs are sites which have sensors installed in the roadway in which portable counters are connected and data are collected over short duration periods. District Four has approximately 500 PTMSs dispersed throughout the District's jurisdiction area. All the PTMS locations have been installed or upgraded at various times based on work projects and preventative maintenance procedures. It should be expected that the number of PTMSs will vary over the course of the contract. The existing PTMS locations are illustrated in Attachment 1. Majority of tasks required under this contract will be the replacement of individual sensors as they fail and/or traffic monitoring site cabinets that are damaged. Services may also be required to install new PTMSs upon request. | ||||
