Description | To provide Engineering and Architectural Services. Firms must possess a strong mechanical, electrical, and plumbing engineering background as assigned tasks will primarily be in these areas of expertise. Other tasks may also include fire protection/fire alarm engineering, energy efficiency, renewable energy, and sustainability. The majority of the projects will involve the rehabilitation of existing facilities. Renovations and rehabilitation of existing structures and facilities. Compliance with the latest building code including review of work done by others for compliance with applicable codes. Application of energy efficiency and sustainability in compliance with the Governor's Executive Order 88. The firms must also be experienced in providing Commissioning services. A minor requirement of fire protection/fire alarm engineering, structural/civil/site engineering and architecture. Hazardous material investigation and design services for the remediation/ removal of such materials as part of the work of this contract. Possible construction management and/or construction inspection services as advisor to the owner. The team shall include an independent Architectural Hardware Consultant (AHC). Services can be provided by the proposed design team including sub-consultants. A percentage of "urgent" projects that require expedited design schedules. The CONSULTANT at times will be expected to provide expedited services to respond to emergency projects that require immediate attention or within 24 hours. The CONSULTANT will need to be available to provide an on-site inspection, consultation and/or design services, and coordinate with OGS field and facility staff to address an emergency. The CONSULTANT shall provide an emergency contact who will be responsible for handling emergencies. The CONSULTANT will also, at times, be tasked with providing services for Job Order Contract (JOC) projects, “M” projects, and “Q” projects. These project types are intended to be expedited for quick response contracting to address priority and urgent needs. Design services should be expedited to be completed in less than 4 weeks for JOC projects, less than 12 weeks for “M” projects, and less than 20 weeks for “Q” projects per the OGS Design Procedures Manual. |
