Ice pigging is a pipe cleaning technique that combines the operational advantages of traditional flushing with the cleaning impact of soft pigging, with minimal interruption to water services during pigging. (1) Perform ice pigging on 77,000 linear feet of pipe ranging from pipe sizes 2 inch to 16 inch and in pipe material that includes PVC, Ductile Iron, Asbestos Cement and Cast Iron (2) The contractor’s equipment and product shall be approved to be used on potable water systems (3) Shall be able to produce, deliver, pump and process ice slurry that meets NSF drinking water standards that can be pumped into water distribution system (4) The ice slurry shall be able to be pumped into the water main through a 2 inch blow off assembly or an existing fire hydrant and carried by upstream pressure to a downstream exit hydrant, removing any accumulated sediment, discharging into a sanitary sewer or to be collected in a truck for disposal (5) The vendor shall be able to provide sampling and data analysis of the results.
