Description | Questions/Requests for clarification due Tuesday, December 13, 2022, 2:00 PM Response to questions/requests for clarifications issued Tuesday, December 20, 2022, COB In accordance with the requirements of New York State Finance Law Sections 139j and 139k ("Lobbying Law"), the restricted period for this procurement is now in effect. Therefore, all communications regarding this procurement must be handled through the State University of New York's designated contacts only. SUNY Upstate Medical University located in Syracuse, New York, is the only academic medical center in Central New York. With an operating budget of approximately $1.8 billion, it is the region's largest employer with approximately 10,100 employees and generates more than $2.5 billion in economic impact for the State of New York. SUNY Upstate Medical University is seeking a vendor to provide hazardous waste removal services. Hazardous waste is continuously generated and collected at multiple Upstate facilities, and all waste is removed from storage areas on a strictly regulated schedule from locations at or near the downtown Upstate University campus in Syracuse, NY. Vendor shall provide labor/supervision, equipment, materials and/or supplies necessary to perform services, including but not limited to lab packs, transportation, disposal, and manifesting. Removal of hazardous waste is to be completed at the following locations: o University Hospital Downtown located at 750 E. Adams St., Syracuse, NY 13210 and Weiskotten Hall (WH) located at 766 Irving Avenue, Syracuse, NY 13210. Both buildings share the same pickup location. o Institute for Human Performance (IHP) located at 505 Irving Avenue, Syracuse, NY 13210 o CNY Biotech Accelerator located at 841 East Fayette Street, Syracuse, NY 13210. Hazardous Waste shall be defined as per the Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA) Subtitle C: any waste material - solid, liquid, or gaseous - that because of its quantity, concentration, or physical, chemical or infectious characteristic may cause or significantly contribute to an increase in mortality, serious irreversible illness, or incapacitating reversible illness; or pose a substantial present or potential hazard to human health or the environment when improperly treated, stored, transported or disposed of, or otherwise managed. |
