RFP D/B - Cedar Creek Classroom Expansion

The owner has selected a Design Builder. A timeline for construction has not yet been established. Design-Build Services for classroom expansion at the Cedar Creek Ecosystem Science Reserve's Lindeman Research and Discovery Center. The Cedar Creek Ecosystem Science Reserves Lindeman Research and Discovery Center aims to advance the understanding of natural systems through ecological research. Community engagement is important to their mission, informing environmental policies and promoting biodiversity conservation. The programs have grown over the past decade, now serving over seven thousand K-12 students on ecological field trips each year. With this substantial increase, the amount of student visitors exceeds current classroom spaces and restroom spaces are limited. 1. Program Description - The University is requesting design services for a one classroom addition to the existing Lindeman Center, including restrooms and support space. With students ranging from kindergarten through high school, the classrooms should be designed with flexibility and universal design in mind. Modifications to the existing building will be limited to the circulation connection. 2. Impact Analysis - The addition is not expected to include sprinkler systems, but may be expected to satisfy storm shelter requirements. Further definition in Pre design is required. Respondent should include a new septic system to serve the new fixtures. Scopes of services will include all services and deliverables necessary to complete a Pre design (Programming), Schematic Design, Design Development, Construction Documents, Bidding/ Negotiation and Construction Administration. Establish a preliminary scope of work/ statement, construction cost estimate and implementation/ phasing schedule for the project. Deadline for RFP Questions November 21, 2022 at Noon
