Audubon Nature Institute Hurricane IDA Roof Renovations & Repairs

Audubon Commission invites bids from qualified licensed general and roofing contractors to replace and repair specified roofs at various Audubon properties that were damaged as a result of Hurricane IDA in the Braquet Design Group Architect & Consultants Drawings No. T 1.0 A 52-1.0 and located at Audubon Zoo, 6500 Magazine Street, New Orleans, LA 70118 & Audubon Species Survival Center, 14001 River Road, New Orleans, LA 70131. The estimated budget for bonding purposing only is $750,000. Bonds shall be written by a surety or insurance company currently on the U.S. Department of the Treasury Financial Management Service list of approved bonding companies, or by a Louisiana domiciled insurance company with at least an A- rating in the latest printing of the A.M. Bests Key Rating Guide to write individual bonds up to ten percent of policyholders surplus as shown in the A.M. Bests Key Rating Guide, or by an insurance company that is either domiciled in Louisiana or owned by Louisiana Residents and is licensed to write surety bonds. The construction period is 150 calendar days. The construction period begins when a notice to proceed is issued after the contract is signed; the Liquidated Damages are one thousand ($1500.00) dollars per day. Contractor Licensing, the State of Louisiana public bid laws, LA Revised Statutes Sections 37 and 38, apply to the award of this Contract. Bids shall be accepted from Contractors who are licensed, under the laws of the State of Louisiana, for the classification of Building Construction or Roofing. This procurement is undertaken pursuant to LRS 38:2212 et seq, and Federal Procurement & Contract CFR Regulations. The provisions of these statues shall govern and control all procurement hereunder notwithstanding any provisions herein to the contrary. The Contractor shall begin procurement of materials within ten (10) working days of the receipt of the Notice to Proceed. This is an all of none bid. Bids will not be awarded to multiple contractors. Diverse Contractors are encouraged to submit bids. Bids received after the day and time specified above will be rejected by the Audubon Commission as non-responsive and returned to the bidder unopened. All questions regarding this invitation shall be addressed in writing, (7) seven working days prior to bid opening excluding Saturdays, Sundays and holidays.
