Description | As of December 27, 2023, the ground breaking ceremony was held on November 16, 2023. Per public information construction commenced in December 2023. Completion is expected in 2026. Closed solicitation has been included below for reference, .................................. The selected A/E will design a new building to replace the Ohio Department of Agriculture Animal Disease Diagnostic Laboratory (ADDL) and provide hazardous materials abatement and demolition documentation for the existing structure. The ADDL provides regulatory testing support for disease control programs and full diagnostic laboratory services for veterinarians, livestock and poultry producers, and agribusinesses within and beyond Ohio. The ADDL is one of 42 laboratories in the U.S. that is accredited by the American Association of Veterinary Laboratory Diagnosticians (AAVLD) and the only AAVLD accredited laboratory in the state of Ohio. The lab also has ISO 17025 accreditation for select tests Upon award of the Agreement, the A/E will commence its services by developing the final Program of Requirements. The selected A/E, as a portion of its required Scope of Services and prior to submitting its proposals, will discuss and clarify with the Owner and/or the Contracting Authority, the cost breakdown of the Architect/Engineer Agreement detailed cost components to address the Owner’s project requirements. The selected A/E will participate in the Encouraging Diversity, Growth & Equity (EDGE) Program as required by statute and the Agreement. The new design should maximize energy and operational efficiency and maximize flexibility of lab function of the various sections within the facility *Project information, including timeline and contacts, has been obtained through public sources.
