Description

LOCALE The bidder must have an established business located within a reasonable distance of the City of Albany. The contractor will be responsible for snow removal for specific areas of the City; those areas will be assigned at the discretion of the City. B.SCOPE OF WORK The VENDOR will be responsible for maintaining all City Streets in the area designated by the geographic limits of ZONE A. This scope includes maintaining safe passage during and after each storm event. The VENDOR will be deployed as directed by DGS & will remain in communication with the department regarding progress. The VENDOR will be responsible for opening and salting travel lanes and cross walks and, if necessary, the removal of snow to a designated dump site. The VENDOR will remove accumulated snow piles on corners, in parking lanes and crosswalks. Completion of routes is paramount to public safety. The Vendor will execute the tasks in a manner that ensures routes are complete no later than indicated below: Total Storm Accumulations Time to complete post storm Less than 1" 2 hours 1" to 6" 4 hours 6" to 12" 6 hours 12+ inches 12 hours Completion of route to be defined as snow and ice removed, snow/ice management materials applied and water running down surface of street. Billable hours will commence upon mobilization to ZONE A and will cease upon inspection of the route by DGS. CONTRACT TERM The contract will commence on December 1, 2023, and will terminate close of business on December 31, 2024. The City will have the option to extend the contract for two (2) one (1) year periods. If this option is exercised, the first extension period will commence on January 1, 2025, and terminate close of business on December 31, 2025. The vendor will be notified in writing prior to December 31, 202,5 of this extension. The second extension period shall commence on January 1, 2026, and terminate on December 31, 2026. The vendor will be notified in writing prior to December 31, 2026, of this extension. A Bid Deposit IS NOT required. Submit a certified check or bank draft made payable to Treasurer, City of Albany. A bid bond is acceptable. Bond Requirement: a Performance Bond Not is Required. Prevailing Wage Rate the Successful Bidder Must Comply With Sections 220and Living Wage Rate: 223 of the New York State Labor Law and/or Section 42-161 of the Code of the City of Albany Pertaining to the Albany Living Wage Ordinance.
