Description | For The Future of Gallivan - 20 Year Plaza Plan Salt Lake City Corporation, on behalf of The Redevelopment Agency, is soliciting competitive sealed proposals to provide professional services to produce a Plaza Plan for the Gallivan Center in SLC. Salt Lake City Corporation (the "City") on behalf of The Redevelopment Agency of Salt Lake City ("RDA") is soliciting competitive sealed proposals from qualified consultants to provide professional services to produce a Plaza Plan ("Plan") for the John W. Gallivan Utah Center ("Gallivan Center") located at approximately 36 E. 200 South in Salt Lake City that prioritizes plaza and programming needs over the next 20 years. The Gallivan Center is a year-round open space and urban area destination in the heart of downtown Salt Lake City that serves a variety of uses. Home to a lush grass amphitheater, public plaza space, a banquet/meeting center, a public ice rink, and multiple art installations, the Gallivan Center serves as the hub for concerts, exhibits, workshops, debates and lectures, public gatherings, festivals, and holiday celebrations. As Salt Lake City continues to experience increased amounts of development and growth, this Plan will guide how the Gallivan Center can best serve the needs of the ever-evolving community in an equitable, environmentally sustainable and fiscally conscious manner over the next 20 years. The Plan should focus on wayfinding enhancements, maintenance and capital projects planning, and programming for the future. The Gallivan Center's initial goals for this planning endeavor include exploring ways to: 1. Become an activated, everyday destination that is welcoming, easy-to-navigate and accessible to all. 2. Reimagine the plaza space and programming to accommodate the needs of Salt Lake City's growing downtown population. 3. Increase revenue to fund ongoing maintenance needs and future design enhancements The method of contractor selection has not been determined at this time |
