Bituminous Street & Utility Improvements

The Project consists of reconstructing approximately 2,430 LF of bituminous street which will include the removal and replacement of 2,100 LF of 8"-10" sanitary sewer main, 2,300 LF of 6" riser/lead pipe, 10 sanitary sewer manholes, 2,350 LF of 6" water main, 2,350 LF of 1" copper service pipe, reconstruction of 9,350 SY of roadway including 2,000 LF of curb and gutter replacement, 11,000SF of sidewalk/driveway apron replacement with ADA improvements, 3,250 CY Common Excavation, 3,000 Ton Aggregate Base Class 5, 2,400 Bituminous mix, 1,200 LF of 12"-18" RCP Storm Sewer, storm sewer structures and other miscellaneous items. All Bids shall be accompanied with a signed statement under oath by the Bidder's owner or officer verifying compliance with Minn. Stat. 16C.285 meeting the "Responsible Contractor" requirements. Also included will be a list of all of its first-tier subcontractors that it intends to retain for work on the project. 1. Any prime contractor or subcontractor that does not meet the minimum criteria established for a responsible contractor as defined by Minn. Stat. 16C.285 Subd. 3 or fails to verify that it meets those criteria is not a "Responsible Contractor" and is not eligible to be awarded a construction contract for the project or to perform work on the project. 2. A false statement under oath verifying compliance with any of the minimum criteria shall make the prime contractor or subcontractor that makes the false statement ineligible to be awarded a construction project and may result in termination of a contract awarded to a prime contractor or subcontractor that submits a false statement. 3. A prime contractor shall submit to the contracting authority, upon request, copies of the signed verifications of compliance from all subcontractors. Each bid must be accompanied by a bidder's bond or certified check made payable to the City of Fergus Falls in a sum equal to 5% of the full amount of the bid executed by the bidder as principal and by a Surety, conditioned that if the principal's bid is accepted and a contract is awarded to the principal, the principal, within ten (10) days after notice of the award, shall execute a contract in accordance with the terms of the bid and a contractor's bond as required by law. Bids received without the appropriate surety deposit will not be read. Sealed bids shall be clearly marked "City Project No. 5960".
