Description

Goals: 15%. The Project consists generally of the following major items: 1. Replacement of two culverts a. The upstream 60” corrugated metal pipe (CMP) will be replaced with one 60” corrugated aluminum alloy pipe (CAAP) and two 36” floodplain CAAPs. b. The downstream 48” high density polyethylene (HDPE) pipe will be replaced with one 60” CAAP and two 36” floodplain CAAPs. 2. Priority 1 stream restoration through the Upper Reach, which includes replacing the existing incised stream with an excavated Rosgen Type C stream channel connected to the historic floodplain. 3. Priority 3 stream restoration through the Lower Reach with the objective of widening the available floodplain while keeping the stream bed near the existing elevation. 4. Significant elevation change is required in the Middle Reach in order to connect the Priority 1 Upper Reach to the Priority 3 Lower Reach. Constructed riffles, a boulder steppool sequence, and a more pronounced series of boulder grade control structures will be installed in the Middle Reach to provide a stable stream bed and necessary grade control. 5. Native vegetation will be established within and adjacent to the proposed stream.
