NAVFAC NRL-A47 & B29 Replace Roofs

The intent of this project is to remove and replace existing roof membrane and insulation system; new lighting protection system, new perimeter safety railings; and incidental related work for buildings 29 and A47. The renovation work will also include new metal-work flashings, conductors' heads, downspouts and new free-standing, non-penetrating safety rules. The roof of Building 29 will be sloped from the centerline of the building to the east and west sides as it does currently. Roof insulation will meet the minimum R-30 for non-residential space with insulation above deck per ASHRAE 90.1. The roof of Building A47 will be changed to provide a single slope toward the southern side of the building. Roof insulation will meet the minimum R-10 for a semi-heated space with insulation above deck per ASHRAE 90.1. This project will replace the roofs and provide new roof curbs for the existing exhaust fans, which will be salvaged and reinstalled. The work will take place on the Naval Research Laboratory campus in Washington, DC.
