Emerald Ash Borer Mitigation - Removal of Ash Trees

The City of Algona is accepting sealed bids for the removal of ash trees as stated below. Proposals not physically received by the City of Algona by that time will be returned, unopened, to the submitting entity. The City reserves the right to refuse any and all bids. Bid will be awarded on March 20, 2023. General Information of the Ash Tree Removal: The Ash Trees will range in estimated size from 8 to 39 dbh (diameter at breast height) located throughout the City of Algona right of ways, cemeteries, parks and the municipal airport. Estimated size and quantities of trees to be removed: 8 dbh - 2 9 dbh - 2 10 dbh - 1 11 dbh - 1 12 dbh - 4 13 dbh - 7 14 dbh - 5 15 dbh - 6 16 dbh - 10 17 dbh - 7 18 dbh - 10 19 dbh - 6 20 dbh - 1 22 dbh - 4 25 dbh - 1 26 dbh - 1 28 dbh - 1 29 dbh - 1 30 dbh - 1 34 dbh - 2 39 dbh - 1 multi trunk - 1 Trees shall be marked with an "X" prior to removal. Insurance Requirements: The contractor shall provide certificate of insurance in the bid documents. The following is the commercial general liability insurance requirements: $1,000,000 Each Occurrence $2,000,000 General Aggregate $1,000,000 Auto Liability Workers Compensation State Statutory Limits The following are specifications for the Ash Tree Removal. The City of Algona reserves the right to waive compliance on minor technicalities on this specification and to reject any or all bids, and to accept that bid which, in the opinion of the City, is in the best interest of the City of Algona. The City of Algona can select the lower responsive bid for overall project. Total bidding amount will be paid upon full completion of work. Two payments can be accepted, the percentage of project completed prior to June 15, 2023 will be paid prior to July 1, 2023. The remainder of the project will be paid once the project is complete.
