Description

1. Project consists of the demolition of fourteen buildings (one hundred sixty four apartments). 2. Contractor shall comply with all requirements of the State Public Health Department for the abatement and disposal of asbestos as it relates to the operation and extent of demolition. 3. Demolition includes; building walks, utilities, slabs, footings, and parking. 4. Demolition shall extend 12" below existing footings. Contractor shall fill voids with acceptable, compacted soils and seed. 5. Contractor is to provide top soil, finish grading, and seeded grass upon completion. 6. Contractor is to erect a perimeter fences to enclose the project site (See Site Plan). 7. Contractor is to comply with all regulations and requirements related to sediment control and off-site waste disposal. Contractor shall provide a BMP Plan and obtain all necessary and required permits and follow all Alabama Department of Environmental Management requirements. 8. Contractor is to verify locations and number of storm water inlets and site conditions prior to bid and notify the Architect in writing of any discrepancies. 9. Contractor shall coordinate all work with Anniston Utilities. 10. All Fire Hydrants shall remain operational. 11. Water distribution system shall be capped at all gate valves servicing the apartments. Coordinate with Fire Department and Water Authority. 12. Gas distribution system shall be capped at gate valve locations servicing the apartments. Abandoned gas piping shall be removed. Coordinate with the Gas Authority. 13. Any surface depressions or irregularities caused by demolition shall be filled (in accordance with the specifications) and graded to provide effective surface drainage. 14. Contractor to remove sidewalks and drives to buildings only. Leave streets, gutters, and sidewalks associated with streets. 15. All debris shall be disposed of in accordance with the specifications. 16. Contractor shall have full access to the site (except as shown on the Site Plan). 17. Construct silt fencing as required. All erosion and sediment measures shall be approved by ADEM (if required). Contractor shall be responsible for providing a Best Management Practice Plan (if required) and obtaining all required permits. 18. All shrubs and plants at buildings are to be removed.
