Prince George's Plaza Community Center - 4.99.0127 - Prince George's County

Prince George's Plaza Community Center was the first Community Center built in the County. Due to the age of the facility, site constraints and policy guidance to develop a multi-generational center in the Prince George's Plaza Area, a feasibility study is necessary. The study will investigate the opportunities and identify potential sites to construct a new multigenerational center to meet the level of service needs of Formula 2040 Service Area 2. Justification: A feasibility study is necessary due to the age of the facility, site constraints and policy guidance. The facility is undersized for the existing projected population growth of its service area. The Formula 2040 plan recommends an 80,000 square foot multigenerational center and 11,000 square feet of outdoor aquatic space. As March 27, 2023, this project is currently in the FY 2023-2028 CIP. Funding for this project is allotted in the city's capital improvement plan for construction FY 2025. A firm timeline has not been established; however, construction is scheduled for Fiscal Year 2025. *Project information has been obtained through a public capital improvement plan (CIP). A CIP is a financial schedule for short- and long-range projects which is updated regularly. Information listed in the CIP often evolves based on funding availability and the project details, including timeline and value, are subject to change.
