Description

The Kansas City Area Transportation Authority (KCATA) is a bi-state agency offering mass transit service within the greater Kansas City metropolitan area. KCATA is requesting that qualified contractors to provide bids for KCATA Camera Upgrades, project F#22-5024-34B. The awarded contractor shall provide all equipment, tools, supplies, prevailing wage labor, supervision, insurance, warranties, and bonds to perform this work from inception to final acceptance by KCATA. This solicitation is funded by Federal Transit Administration (FTA) grants. A nine (9%) goal participation by certified Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) firm(s) for this project. Certified DBE firms are encouraged to submit bids as Primes or Subcontractors. Firms must be certified as a DBE by a member of the Missouri Regional Certification Committee, which includes KCMO, MoDOT, City of St. Louis, Metro or KCATA. A list of certified firms may be found at portal. MBE and WBE certifications from other agencies will not be counted toward DBE participation. Questions and requests for clarifications will be received until September 12, 2022, approved equal considerations for products shall be submitted by September 12, by 12 noon, also. KCATA's response to these submissions will be in the form of an Addendum, as required. The cameras and other required items identified by name brand are intended to be a basis of design. Bidders proposing approved equals must clearly identify to KCATA that, at minimum, the cameras or other equipment proposed for consideration meet all the salient characteristics identified in the scope of work. It is the policy of KCATA to ensure that Disadvantage Business Enterprises (DBEs), as identified in 49 CFR Part 26, have an equal opportunity to receive and participate in Department of Transportation (DOT)-assisted contracts. For this project a goal of nine percent ( 9%) participation by Disadvantaged Business Enterprises (DBEs) has been established. DBE firms are encouraged to submit bids as Prime Contractors or Subcontractors. To be eligible, a firm must 1) be certified as a DBE under U.S. Department of Transportation's guidelines found in 49 CFR Part 26; and 2) hold a current, valid certification from a member of the Missouri Regional Certification Committee (MRCC) Unified Certification Program. MBE and WBE certifications from other organizations shall not be accepted. Kcata is committed to providing the minority community the opportunity to bid and be part of this project.
