Description | **As of July 21, 2022, this project has not yet been awarded. A timeline for award has not yet been established.** The City is seeking sealed bids for drainage improvement construction at two locations within the City. Each location is described further below and each shall be constructed in accordance with their respective Final Design Plans. Please submit all questions regarding this solicitation in writing to procurement@gaithersburgmd.gov. WHEREAS, Grantor is the owner of a certain parcel of real property in Montgomery County, Maryland described as Lot numbered (2), in Block lettered "D", in the subdivision known as "DEER PARK", as per plat thereof recorded in Plat Book 70 at Plat 6541 among the Land Records of Montgomery County, Maryland, and as also known as 122 Woodland Road Gaithersburg, Maryland 20877 ("Grantor's Property"); A. East Darby Court: This location includes the extension of existing storm drain infrastructure to create a resilient drainage system and alleviate flooding. The project scope includes the installation of approximately 40 linear feet of 15" reinforced concrete pipe and a new combination storm drain inlet. The project also requires the repair and replacement of impacted existing improvements such as asphalt paving, curb and gutter, and sidewalk. Potential issues include the presence of water and sewer laterals in the vicinity of the proposed work. Should test pits of these utilities demonstrate conflict with the Final Design Plans, the Bidder will coordinate with the City's Project Manager to revise the design. The Bid sheet includes an allowance line item for potential extra depth of storm drain infrastructure. B. 122 - 124 Woodland Road: This location includes the replacement of an existing concrete headwall with a new concrete headwall and adjacent land improvements to increase the hydraulic capacity of the existing drainage system. The work location is within an existing public storm drain easement that overlaps two private residential properties. Access to the work location will be in accordance with a temporary construction easement that allows access through 122 Woodland Road. Potential issues include the proximity to CSX right-ofway, necessary tree removal of large diameter trees, and strict control and security of the access and work areas so as to maintain the use of the property by the private residents. |
