Cherry Township Bridge Projects Site A and B

The project is to rehabilitate the existing structure by constructing new reinforced concrete beam seats at each abutment and constructing new reinforced concrete wingwall caps. Concrete jackets will also be constructed at the near substructure unit along with an underpinning along the near jacket. The superstructure will have steel plates welded over existing holes in the web over the near abutment. In addition, the approach roadways will be re-graded to provide a smooth transition onto the structure and current standard approach guide rail will be installed. Site B: The project involves replacing the existing failed and deteriorated wingwalls at the inlet of the structure with new reinforced concrete wingwalls. The new wingwalls will be keyed in and doweled into the existing bedrock. The roadway will also be regraded as necessary in the areas excavated to construct the wingwalls.
