Description

SEALED BIDS FOR THE CITY OF MT. VERNON, ILLINOIS OVERHEAD DOOR REMOVAL AND REPLACEMENT PROJECT LOCATED AT 714 S 42ND STREET Bidders must secure their information as to the condition of the site and all local conditions affecting the work prior to submitting their proposals. Bids should be deliv ered to the Clerk's Office and labeled "42nd St. Overhead Door Removal and Replacement Project". Any contract awarded under this Invitation for Bids will require the following: bid bond for 5% of the bid amount, certificate of insurance, performance and payment bonds in the amount of 100% of the contract price. A list of materials to be utilized for the project. A representative will be available onsite August 881 through September 1, 2022, from 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. local time to allow bidders the opportunity to inspect the proposed scope of work. Acknowledgment that the bidder has inspected the site must accompany the bid. Bidders are notified that the price bid must include everything as described in the specifications. No extra of any kind will be allowed unless ordered in writing by the Owner. The Construction Contract for this project is subject to "An act regulating wages of laborers, mechanics and other workers employed in any public works by the State, County, City or any public body or any political subdivision or by anyone under contract for public works", approved June 26, 1941, as amended, being Section 820 ILCS 130/1-12 Illinois Compiled Statutes, commonly referred to as The Prevailing Wage Act. The Prevailing Wage rates to be paid to laborers, mechanics and other workers engaged in the construction of public works coming under the jurisdiction of the City of Mt. Vernon to be the same rates as determined by the Department of Labor for the State of Illinois for Jefferson County as of June 2013, was approved in Ordinance 2013 19 by the City of Mt. Vernon, Illinois. SPECIFICATIONS All bidders are required to provide three references for similar work in scope and size of repairing the following: Remove and discard current metal overhead doors (7 Total) 12'-2"w x 14'h and replace with AMARR model 2742 commercial ribbed 2 sided steel insulated, R value 19.2 white doors with 1 row of 26" x 13' insulated glass with regular lift, reverse angle, torsion spring and be weather sealed. Doors will be re-hooked to existing openers. Each bid shall be accompanied by a set of "Specifications" consisting of a detailed description of the equipment. PURCHASER'S OBLIGATIONS The purchaser reserves the right to accept or reject any or all bids on such basis as the purchaser deems to be in its best interest. All bidders shall be advised that the purchaser is not bound in any manner to automatically accept the lowest bid. ACQUAINTANCE WITH SPECIFICATIONS It is the responsibility of the bidder to review all the bidding requirements. Failure of a bidder to be acquainted with this information shall not relieve them from any obligations of the bid requirements. EXCEPTION TO SPECIFICATIONS The following specifications shall be strictly adhered to. Exceptions shall be allowed if they are equal to or superior to that specified (as judged by the purchaser), and provided they are listed and fully explained on a separate Dage entitled "EXCEP- TIONS TO SPECIFI- CATIONS". If no explanation is given in the "EXCEPTIONS TO SPECIFICATIONS" document the bid is subject to immediate rejection.
