Description | DESCRIPTION OF WORK: This project was derived from the Northeast Corridor Infrastructure Improvement Program (NECI) planning study. The purpose of the project is to improve the North Davidson Street/Jordan Place Intersection and enhance multimodal transportation choices for users. This project will improve accessibility for pedestrian, bicycle, and vehicular connections to the 25th Street light rail station as well as to the Davidson to Matheson XCLT Project on Brevard Street. Works include grading, paving, milling, drainage, concrete sidewalk, signals, two-way cycle track, curb & gutter and retaining wall. Bidders must be properly licensed under North Carolina state law to perform the work. A 5% bid security is required with each bid that equals or exceeds $300,000. Following Charlotte Business Inclusion goals have been established for this project: MBE = 8% SBE = 19% The Contractor is responsible for providing, placing, maintaining and removing upon completion, all traffic control devices necessary for the protection of survey crews performing construction staking requested by the Contractor for construction of this project when any offset, reference points, benchmark or any other control point is within the travel lane of any roadway, drive, parking lot or other area where vehicles could endanger or obstruct the survey crew. |
