Acomita WWTP Expansion Project

The Project consists of constructing a new concrete Sequence Batch Reactor (SBR) basin approximately 44` x 28` x 17` and the installation of all the appurtenances and electrical control panels with instrumentation, to provide a complete and operable system. The project also includes the connection of the new SBR basin to the existing system, including 50 LF of overhead 8" D.I. pipe from existing headworks to the new SBR basin, 45 LF of 8" D.I. air piping from the blower room to the new SBR basin, 20 LF of 8" D.I. pipe from the blower room to the new sludge holding tank, 35 LF of 12" D.I. Pipe from the decanter to the effluent lift station stub-out and 45 LF of 4" D.I. pipe from the sludge holding tank to the sludge transfer line. Electrical controls for the proper operation of the plant are included in this project. Due to the increased capacity of the wastewater treatment plant, both a new UV disinfection system and new sludge drying bed will be installed. Also, due to the increased capacity at the plant, the existing influent pumps will be replaced with higher capacity pumps. The existing mixers in the existing SBR basin will also be replaced. Two disposal cells will be built, approximately 4.6 and 2.6 acres, to accommodate for the additional flows to the wastewater treatment plant. 3,700 LF of barb wire fence will be installed around the disposal cells. Two each, 12` double gates will be installed on the existing chain link fence at the lagoon site. An alternate work item SCADA electrical controls shall also be installed to monitor the flows at the wastewater treatment plant.
