Forbes Pocket Park

A design and installation of paths, gardens, and other possible amenities at the Forbes Pocket Park located at the northeast corner of Mile Rd and Route 1 in Wells, Maine. The flagpole, the stonework patio surrounding the flagpole, and the stone wall are remaining as installed. The pathway leading from the patio to Mile Rd needs to be removed and replaced with stairs and a retaining wall. The pathway leading from the patio to Route 1 currently includes two colors of pavers. This pathway will need to be updated to include a consistent color or pattern throughout. The location may also be changed if desired in the design. The remaining space is open for design interpretations but should include low maintenance, native plantings and should provide safe passage for pedestrians from the sidewalks along both Mile Rd and Route 1. Fencing has already been purchased for the edges of the property and is scheduled for installation in the spring of 2022. Irrigation has already been installed on the property
