Masonry Repair of Expansion Joints, Tanks, Tunnels and Other Specialty Masonry Repairs

This section covers the repair of concrete and shotcrete cracks and joints in locations of the Work. The Work covered by this section includes, but is not limited to, the following: a. Sealing of all cracks and crack networks that are wider than a minimum thickness of 10 mils (0.01 inch). b. Repair of all spalled concrete and corroded reinforcement steel with trowelable repair mortar and replacement reinforcement. Existing reinforcement that has corroded more than 30% of its cross sectional area shall be removed and replaced. c. Sealing of construction and movement joints that require repair. d. If a liquid-containing structure fails the leakage test, Contractor shall make repairs to the structure to stop all leaks. Repairs shall include all repairs necessary to achieve an acceptable leakage test.
