Description | About Main Street/ Downtown Development Authority As a City of Milledgeville department, Main Street/ the Downtown Development Authority's mission is to inspire public and private investment in the revitalization, preservation, and promotion of the downtown business district in order to strengthen the economic base of Milledgeville-Baldwin County. The vision is to promote the continued development of downtown Milledgeville as a vibrant and attractive destination for business, education, and community activity where people appreciate its rich history. The Project The location under consideration for the construction of the Pavilion Park is a parcel of land off of East Hancock Street and immediately east of the City of Milledgeville downtown Pavilion at 222 East Hancock Street. The objective of Pavilion Park is to continue the tremendous momentum downtown Milledgeville has experienced over the past decade, to further activate downtown, enhance downtown Milledgeville as a destination to live work and play and, continue to grow the appeal of the area for future economic growth. The Pavilion Park must function as an area that is an extension of downtown to attract visitors, entertainment and community events. It must have an integrated look and feel for the downtown area. Not only meet functional requirements but also make an aesthetic statement of its own. The design must accomplish all these requirements in a seamless, attractive and logical way. Project construction cost is not to exceed $100K and is requested in phase-in options. Design Element Considerations --Terrace seating --Natural playscape- slide and rock elements --Possible amphitheater/venue structure (considering cost effective construction costs) --No restrooms (they are in the pavilion) --Using space in front of pavilion too Consultant Qualifications Consultants desiring consideration should offer complement of specialties consistent with the project scope. The City will select the consultant considered most qualified to provide the required services. The forma for the statement of qualifications is within the discretion of the consultants; but should address key evaluation criteria. Significant evaluation criteria are: --Professional Qualifications: Qualifications and expertise of the consultant personnel who will be involved in the work. Including resumes. --Experience: Consultant's experience with local governments performing similar types of work. Include project descriptions, scope of services performed, location and reference (contact person). --Mobility and Proximity: Mobility and proximity of the consultant to Milledgeville may be considered but will care less weight than foregoing criteria. The method of Contractor Selection has not been Determined at this time. |
