| Description | The City of Barre, like many communities, is experiencing a housing shortage that has been made worse by the flood of July, 2023. The City owns a .41 acre lot suitable for building in the downtown district (see aerial photograph of the lot on page 2). The City is issuing a request for letters of interest to re-develop this lot for residential housing or mixed-use (retail/office) that must include multiple residential units. The successful applicant will have a multi-unit design that incorporates a detailed plan to provide mixed housing options. The City will consider a significantly reduced price for the lot.
