Description

Florence Nightingale Elementary School - Boiler #2 Tubing The proposal shall be submitted with the attached Bid Cover Sheet completed in its entirety. Warranty information, when applicable, shall also be included & submitted. All work to be performed during normal working hours. If bid price is over $25,000 or more, bidder must be signatory to relevant union, per terms of the Various Trades Contract and Project Labor Agreement. If bid price is over $75,000, you MUST include your MBE/WBE subs and relevant forms at time of bid. - Cut the complete set of tubes from the boiler and remove them from the premises. - Assess the condition of the tube sheet once all the tubes have been removed. - If there are any issues with the tube sheets, notify CPS immediately. - Prepare the tube sheets by removing sharp edges and burrs. - Flush out the shell of all scale and debris. - Transfer scrap out and new tubes into the building. - Set in the boiler a complete set of 2" SA-178A boiler tubes. - New tubes to be properly flare rolled front and rear of the tube sheets. - Replace hand holes and cover plates removed to perform this work. - Fill the boiler and apply a hydrostatic test below the set pressure of the safety valve. - Leave the area free of debris caused by work. - Close the Boiler. CPS Specifications: - Contractor to secure necessary permits. - Contractor to field verify dimensions and specifics of all projects listed above before placing bid. - Not responsible for contractor errors as a result of non-field verification. - Materials and installation must comply with CPS Standards and Specifications as listed on a) STEAM AND HOT WATER BOILER RENOVATION - Section 23 01 51 b) WATER-TUBE BOILERS - Section 23 52 33 c) FIRE-TUBE AND FIRE-BOX BOILERS - Section 23 52 39 - Secure job site overnight if work is not completed in one day. - If building or CPS properties are damaged during construction, contractor to replace and/or repair as necessary. - Provide necessary labor and materials to fix/correct issues preventing any or all of the projects to be marked as completed. - All work shall be coordinated with the Board authorized representatives to complete in an agreed upon time frame. - Contractor is to remove and dispose of materials torn out and any construction debris. - All trash must be removed off-site by contractor. - Clean the surrounding area and make sure all is swept of debris. - All questions/requests must be received two (2) business days prior to bid closing
