Description | scope of Work: 1. Removal of lighting fixtures as shown on the RCP existing drawings. 2. Contractor is responsible for disposal of all fluorescent lamps in accordance with all current laws and regulations. 3. Installation of new lighting fixtures as shown on the RCP new and Electrical Lighting drawings. In the case of a discrepancy, use the Electrical Lighting drawings for quantity of fixtures. 4. All lighting fixtures have been purchased by Sam Houston State University and are being stored on campus. 5. It will be the electrical contractors responsibility to pick up and take acceptance of the light fixtures from Sam Houston’s warehouse on campus and move them to the appropriate location for installation. 6. Contractor is responsible for cleaning up their construction debris at the end of every day. 7. A dumpster for each building will be provided by SHSU. 8. All 120-277v wire must be stranded copper, solid wire is not permitted. 9. 12awg is the smallest wire allowed. 10. All 0-10v dimming wire must be plenum rated. 11. 1/2" or larger flexible metal conduit is the only allowable material for light whips. MC cable is strictly forbidden. 12. Light whips are allowed up to 6ft in length. 13. Lights may not be daisy chained together; each fixture must have a whip back to a jbox above the ceiling. The only exception to this is if the fixtures are butted together and a chase nipple can be installed between the fixtures. 14. The new light fixtures in the classrooms and corridors can reuse the existing light whips, however in all corridors the concentration of light fixtures has increased. Additional light whips will need to be provided by the electrical contractor for these fixtures. 15. Die-cast fittings are not allowed, malleable/ductile steel only. 16. All devices called out to be replaced on the drawings are to be white. 17. All devices plates for light switches to be white plastic, large plates. 18. All devices plates for receptacles to be stainless steel. 19. All blank plates to be stainless steel. |
